In Australia, Sodexo commits nearly $1 million annually to sports clubs, schools, community groups, business events and partnerships aligned with our Stop Hunger initiative, reconciliation, diversity, and inclusion efforts, addressing specific local needs. We collaborate closely with organisations and stakeholders to ensure that our social investments are impactful and meet the actual needs of the communities where we operate. Key sponsorships include: • Foodbank Australia: Since 2016, our partnership with Foodbank Australia has led to more than $262,800 in donations, equating to over 525,500 meals. Our employees volunteer their time at Foodbank warehouses and community kitchens, run food drives, and raise funds to support in ways that go beyond food relief. • Indigenous Partnerships: Sodexo has long committed to investing time and experience to improve outcomes for Indigenous Australians examples include: o Stars Foundation: Sodexo has partnered with the Stars Foundation since 2021, and through that time committed close to $300,000. The Stars Foundation supports Indigenous Australian young women to transition successfully into the workforce, training, or higher education beyond Year 12. o Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation Limited (NYFL): Sodexo formalised its partnership with NYFL through an MoU. Within the first six months of the MoU, Sodexo’s contributiosn to NYFL’s Ieramugadu Maya Store, Café and Gallary resulted in 48 dedicated freight trips (Perth to Roebourne), $33,000 committed funding, half a tonne of food donated, in kind technology support for measuring shopper satisfaction, ongoing catering for Elder celebrations and events. o Garma Festival: Sodexo has supported the Garma Festival since 2004, providing catering and facilities management services, as part of a partnership with the Yothu Yindi Foundation. Each year, a team of about 70 Sodexo volunteers from sites across Australia prepare and serve over 30,000 meals for anywhere up to 3,000 attendees of the festival across four days • Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation (PCHF): Through our recycling program, Sodexo has provided more than $613,000 in funding to the PCHF to enable vital projects at the hospital, including a study on Vitamin D deficiencies in Aboriginal children, development of 3D orthoses for children, and the purchase of specialised neonatal intensive care equipment. • Cowboys House: Sodexo is proud to have extended its sponsorship in 2024 to become a NRL Cowboys House Transitions Program Supporting Partner. The Cowboys Community Foundation delivers outcomes-driven community programs that remove geographic, health and wellbeing, cultural and economic barriers that stand in the way of equitable access to pathways for a fulfilling life. The NRL Cowboys House is a unique, culturally safe boarding facility for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women attending partner schools in Townsville. We invest over one million dollars into the community each year, across more than 50 types of organisations, State authorities and bodies, Universities and Colleges, Government and Non-Government schools, Public Sector Associations, community organisations, charities, advocacy groups, development agencies and Not for Profits. We invest in a diverse range of initiatives across education, emergency services, health communities and wider society. This encompasses scholarships, sponsorships, grants, conferences and events, professional associations and bodies, professional development, training and mentoring, education awards, charity donations, emergency relief for natural disasters, micro finance and financial literacy programmes in Asia Pacific. These include: The NSW Premier’s Teachers Mutual Bank Aboriginal Education Scholarship, Bell Shakespeare, Stewart House, NSW Teachers Federation, Universities Australia, Flourish, APPA – Primary Principals Association, NSW Primary Principals Association, Public Education Foundation, APNA – Australian Primary Health, Australia College of Midwives and Emergency Services awards, and WA Education Awards. Our bank has been partnering with the international development organisation CUFA since 2016 on the Children’s Financial Literacy Program to enhance the financial knowledge of Cambodian children affected by poverty. The results include 43,770 children receiving financial literacy training; we have visited 132 schools and 3081 homes, trained more than 1070 teachers and resulted in more than 23,773 children opening savings accounts. 35 bank staff have travelled to Cambodia on study tours to observe first-hand the project, community and the country.
