Today, as we bid farewell to April, we're shining a spotlight on a cause close to our hearts: Greyhound adoption. Throughout the month, we've been celebrating Adopt a Greyhound awareness Month, and it's the last day to make a difference! đśâ¤ď¸
Throughout the month, organizations and individuals alike have united to shine a spotlight on these graceful creatures, advocating for their welfare and promoting adoption as a compassionate choice.
Did you know? The greyhound racing industry admits to euthanizing up to 17,000 healthy dogs yearly, including 7,000 pups that never even make it to the track. It's a heartbreaking reality, but together, we can change it.
Enter Friends of the Hound Inc.! Since 2003, they've been champions for Greyhounds, rescuing and rehoming these beautiful creatures as beloved pets and companions. đĄđž
But the work doesn't stop there. Almost 20,000 Greyhounds are bred annually for the racing industry, perpetuating a cycle of exploitation and abandonment. Friends of the Hound is on a mission to break this cycle, one adoption at a time. đđ
Throughout Adopt a Greyhound awareness Month, we've witnessed the power of community and compassion. From heartwarming adoption stories to fundraising initiatives, individuals have come together to make a difference in the lives of these gentle dogs.

Here's how you can make a difference:
Your $10 will supply monthly heartworm and flea prevention for a rescued Greyhound in our foster program. Providing necessary care for Greyhounds saved from the commercial racing and gambling industry.
Your $25 will provide a warm coat for a rescued Greyhound currently in care with Friends of the Hound during winter. Keep a skinny hound warm and cozy during the cold months.
With your help, Friends of the Hound can acquire the first dedicated Greyhound welfare and adoption facility in Australia. Their âHound Havenâ will be a center for rescue, adoption, education, meetings, workshops, volunteer inclusion, and mentoring, fundraising activities, social events, and welfare awareness.
