Good Morning,
Happy Chooseday!
Yesterday we celebrated World Environment Day... and now what? We need to make every day World Environment Day and come together to #BeatPlasticPollution!
There is an ecological connectivity between the land and sea, and World Environment Day seeks to bring people together to protect and restore the Earth. But what about the rest of the year?
This Chooseday, we invite you to keep the environment front of mind today and every other day.
To keep global warming below 1.5°C this century, we must halve annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. We must have annual greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
Without action, exposure to air pollution beyond safe guidelines will increase by 50 percent within the decade, and plastic waste flowing into aquatic ecosystems will nearly triple by 2040.
Let's all be a part of the solution to the world's plastic pollution.
We need urgent action to address these pressing issues, and that is why today we are highlighting the work that Carbon Positive Australia do.
Carbon Positive Australia is a charity that encourages everyone to make climate-healthy choices that go beyond being 'carbon neutral' and provide additional benefits to the land.
They work with communities across Australia to plant trees and carefully select species, collect native seeds, and monitor results. The trees they plant are protected for up to 100 years to ensure they have time to capture carbon, provide habitat for native animals, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
